One-handed axes are the most powerful one-handed weapons available in the game. They do not provide any additional intrinsic bonus (like  Shielding from 1-handed swords or  Blunt Damage from clubs), they just hit hard.

The best 1-handed axe is made of dragon bone and ancient wood.

Unlocking 1-handed axes crafting requires 1 advancement point and is a prerequisite for 2-handed axes crafting.
